This policy explains how Hideon VPN ("we", "us") handles personal data in the Hideon VPN app for iPhone, iPad and Mac (the "App") and on hideonvpn.com (the "Website"). A short, plain version is on What we collect.
1. How to reach us
Email: appbiz.w@gmail.com. Telegram: @HideyVPN_bot.
2. What we don't collect
We don't keep logs of the websites you visit, the apps you use through the VPN, your DNS queries or the content of your traffic. We don't ask for your name, email address or phone number to use the App. We don't sell personal data and don't use it for advertising or to track you across other companies' apps and websites.
3. What the App collects and why
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| App user ID and device ID (identifiers created by the App, not your Apple Account) | Provide and restore your subscription, product analytics | Contract; legitimate interest in improving the App |
| Purchase history (plan, dates, renewal status) received from Apple | Unlock Premium, handle renewals and support requests, analytics | Contract |
| Product interaction: screens opened, buttons tapped, whether a connection succeeded and the kind of error if it didn't | Find out where the App is confusing or fails, and fix it | Legitimate interest |
Your IP address
When you open the App, it asks our server how your connection looks from outside (IP address, approximate city, country and internet provider) to show it to you and pick a nearby server. The server answers in real time and doesn't store or log the address or the result. IP Geolocation by DB-IP.
While you are connected, our VPN server processes your IP address to send traffic back to you. It is not kept after the connection ends.
Support emails
If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include. If you use the App's "Email support" button, it adds technical details (App version, connection mode, network type, error codes) and does not include your IP address. We use this only to answer you.
4. Who processes data for us
- Apple handles payments and subscriptions. Apple's own privacy policy applies to your Apple Account.
- Apphud (subscription management) receives the App user ID, device ID and purchase history.
- Amplitude (product analytics) receives the App user ID, device ID and product interaction events.
- Server hosting providers run our VPN and configuration servers in the Netherlands, Germany, the United States and Russia. They have no access to your traffic content.
- Netlify hosts the Website.
These providers process data only on our instructions. Some of them are outside your country; where the law requires it, transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses.
5. How long we keep data
- Subscription data: while you have a subscription and up to 3 years after it ends, for accounting and disputes.
- Analytics events: up to 2 years.
- Support emails: up to 2 years after the conversation ends.
6. The Website
The Website sets no cookies and loads no third-party tracking or advertising scripts. The My IP tool shows the address and approximate location your browser connects from; it is not stored. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (including IP addresses) for a short period for security and abuse prevention.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and complain to your data protection authority. Email us from the address you want us to reply to and include your App user ID (Dashboard → Account & support). We answer within 30 days.
You can stop all collection by deleting the App. Cancelling a subscription is done in your Apple Account settings.
8. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
9. Security
Traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted. Access to our systems is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you and the authorities about a breach where the law requires it.
10. Changes
We'll update the date at the top when this policy changes. For significant changes, we'll also tell you in the App.
